St. Gilgen near Lake Wolfgang
Situated on the banks of Lake Wolfgang St. Gilgen is perfect for lovers of watersport holidays.

The Zwölferhorn
Towering over the village of St. Gilgen is the Zwölferhorn mountain. With Panoramic views across many miles of the Salzkammergut area it attracts many visitors. Lunch can be taken in one of the mountain restaurants before walking off the calories on one of the sign posted walks down to St. Gilgen
Zwölferhorn cable car
The peak of the Zwölferhorn mountain can be easily reached by way of the cable car.
Situated next to St. Gilgens main bus station the cable car takes 16 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. Wonderful views can be seen from the cable car during the journey.
Mozart house
Mozarts mother, Anna Maria Walpurga Pertil, and his sister nannerl were both born in St. Gilgen. The house is now a museum with a multimedia show that is a must for all Mozart fans.
Dorf der Tiere
Between St. Gilgen and Strobl is the children attraction Dorf der Tiere. It is a mixture of a petting zoo and a childrens playground and is a must for the whole family.
Zinkenbacher artists village
From 1927 to 1938 the picturesque village of Zinkenbacher was home to a group of artists.
They were very vocal in their opposition to Adolf Hitler and his plans for Third Reich. When Hitler brought Austria into the Reich in 1938 the artists disbanded. In memory of their stay in the village an exhibition of their works is displayed in the museum.
